Seriously… brrrrr.

I guess the lovely Autumn is turning into Winter. Getting out of the pool after Evie’s lesson today was rather chilly indeed.

This rain is nice though - can’t complain about that! There’s nothing nicer than a warm bowl of soup while you sit rugged up on the cosy couch. Okay, so maybe Evie hugs are better.

We’ve just added some new Timabare products on the evie lala website. Very exciting to be able to add to our organic range. Evie uses the organic cotton blanket and I LOVE it.

I love the look of Autumn. Evie also seems to love it - the leaves fascinate her. She’s happiest, of course, when she can manage putting them into her mouth, but that is perhaps not the best variety of fibre for her diet!

I LOVE the weekend. It’s always so good having Steve to share the parenting with me during the day. Evie gets so excited everytime he walks in the room… and now that she’s saying "dad", he’s really enjoying that interaction with her.

I’m off to spend the day with my sister tomorrow. She’s almost in her third trimester now, so I’m excited to see her since I haven’t for a few weeks. This will be a ...

Today was a great day with Evie. We didn’t do anything particularly exciting, put she was in such a good mood because she’s getting more sleep now. She just cracks me up. She’s been laughing heaps, and saying "dad" much more - which i don’t mind at all! She’s been pulling herself up onto her feet using anything she can. It scares me - I’m sure she’s going to fall and doof herself.

My parents are visiting from Canberra at the moment. I LOVE watching them interact with Evie and build their own relationship with her. Evie had so much fun playing with them today. I wish my parents could move back here and play with her all the time. My dad hadn’t seen Evie since February - he had to get to know her all over again.

I have to say a big thank you to Annemarie from Nightnannies  (in my friends list) for your advice about Evie’s sleeping issues.

I have worked REALLY hard over the last few days, and she’s now self-settling for the first time in months. Today she went to bed awake and self-settled (with NO crying) all 3 sleeps. She slept an hour in the morning, TWO hours in the afternoon and went to bed without a fuss ...

Day sleeps were better today - she actually self-settled for the 2nd sleep in a few minutes and then slept for over an hour. I couldn’t believe it!!! I actually got some housework done. What a difference that bit of time makes for her mood, and for my energy levels!

Oh yes, and stepping aside from the sleep issue (finally), Evie’s started pulling herself up at the coffee table now. It all happens so quickly - ...

So, the sleeping is still not good. Still trying to decide on a strategy.

Evie’s got me wrapped around her little finger…

I’m so confused by all the different advice people give. It’s quite overwhelming. We shall try again tomorrow…
