When sewing, do not thread pins in the fabric of your jeans for convenience of not having to reach a pin cushion. Ignoring this advice will cause you to become a pin cushion.
ie. Upon forgetting the presence of the aforementioned pins, you will attempt to take off your jeans at some point. The pins will then become embedded in your leg to a depth of approximately 1/2 an inch. Removal of the pins will feel icky.

He’s been remarking a lot lately that I’ll get a cup of tea at night, and then focus so much on my work that I won’t drink more than a few sips of it. I think he’s not impressed with pooring wasted tea down the sink. Ooops. Good point.

He was getting himself a drink the other night and I asked if he could get me a cup of tea at the same time. So he did. He put the mug in front of me on the coffee table and I continued with my work.

It was at least 10 mins before I remembered it was there and went to take a sip… only to find the mug had nothing in it.

ha ha ha ha. Very funny.

I couldn’t resist taking this photo of some washing on the line - our jeans looking so big next to Evie’s little jeans. My husbands socks are bigger than they are!

For some reason I always find it satisfying looking at her little clothes on the line. Children sure do generate a LOT of washing, but it’s rather cute seeing it hanging up.

Anyway, I guess this is a sort of representation of our family. Strange to think that just over a year ago I was washing little newborn clothes getting ready for Evie’s arrival. Somehow after a baby arrives it’s like they were always there…

This was my first attempt at a children’s birthday cake. Evie is one!!!

Happy Birthday Evie!
(How can this be? Where did the year go?)

I was going to make a dog cake, as Evie’s been saying ‘woof woof’ when we talk about dogs… but a few days before I made this cake she started saying a very impressive ‘meeeoooooooow’ when asked what the cat says. She is fascinated with our Siberian cat, Wilson.

So, a cat cake was the result! And what better model than the evie lala cat?? Click here to see the original - how did I do?

Hmmm, so the blue is rather blue. It’s like it got brighter after I iced it. I came back 30 mins later and got a shock!

Oh, and the mud cake inside was very popular. Evie’s cousins Cailan and Ethan were particularly pleased with their choice to eat the cat’s head.

We received this lovely email today from a customer who purchased 3 ‘Ian the Sheep and friends’ toys.

The sheep have all been very well received. The parents of my new-born great-nephew in South Africa love Ian and my nine-month grand-daughter finds her sheep’s thin legs perfect to clutch with her little hands. My grandson’s Ian has been adopted by his two-and-a-half year-old sister who adores him, but has one reservation: She called from her bedroom that she couldn’t sleep. Her mother said, “Well, don’t worry. You don’t have to sleep. Just lie there.” ” There’s no-one to talk to,” she replied. Her mother told her to talk to Ian. “But he can’t talk back,” was the reply. Is there anything that can be done about that?!!
